  Cart observations from Cardiff South Wales

  i was in a suburb of cardiff, capital of wales where it was difficult to get near to my customer's offices to deliver and install what i do.

  i had my car parked about a hundred yards away and had to make several trips with goods and tools past a local jw trolley cart.

  as i was working i didn't stop but observed much of the time from an upper floor office window.. in the hour or so i was there, on a warm sunny (for late february) lunchtime/early afternoon - right by a bus stop and several local shops, cafes and banks with plenty of people about - not one person stopped at the cart.. the two women at the cart i guess were about 50 and 75 respectively - pleasant looking motherly/grandmotherly types.

  Thanks for posting. I don't mind that you didn't talk to them for hours and converted them to ex jw...They needed a little taste of reality.

  Junk DNA. Science uses words like "junk" and "primitive cells" which don't describe accurately what they really are.

  Junk dna means that everyone/thing has dna that is the same. It's just not activated. My nephew told me this because he believes in evolution. He thought I would believe it too. But to me, it just means that the creator(s) were lazy efficient. Didn't mean they were perfect or had a perfect system thought out. Just another science experiment.

  " It is the True Religion ! "

  speaking to two jw's, separately and days apart, they both weaved in to the conversation the phrase " it is the true religion " .. now in neither case was it possible for me to do my usual thing, piling in with both guns blazing and pointing out that it is impossible for there to be any such thing as "the true religion", unless by "truth" you mean that which is true in your opinion and not supported by facts or reality etc etc.

  my question is : is this mere coincidence, or has there been an article or something telling them to say this ?

  if there is, could someone point me to it ?

  At work, I get "encouraged" by a witness who is always hinting at how horrible the world is. How it can't get much worse....

  Maybe they had a local talk that stressed that point.

  there is a public talk given by tight pants tony on youtube titled "the real armageddon, why, when"his talk, as usual, doesn't make much sense.

  he says armageddon is not a nuclear holocaust or an asteroid hitting the earth it's god's war against all the political nations of the earth.

  he talks about a celestial phenomenon that will be phenomenal.

  the other hand it wouldn't surprise me if they do have some kind of underground complex, or a small one for The GB, at least.

  They had them in the past, I'm sure they thought of that at Warwick. Are they going to let the brothers that worked on the bunkers in too? Or will they be like the Pharisees Pharaohs who buried the master workers with them? (the burying them is probably from some old movie lol) Like this

  when @brian j’s “bullet in the head” thread went live (https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/4747450574176256/session-8-bullet-head) those written shots echoed in my mind.

  a week later while overhearing a bible study, the conductor was asked if god really has given us “free will”.

  but if someone ever put a gun to my head and asked me to renounce my faith as a jehovah’s witness, i would die.”.

  Very true that most witnesses - the "rank and file" ones anyway - would stand up for their faith in very terrible situations.

  Then you have geoffrey jackson using a convenient lie to save himself on the stand. Oh the embarrassment of being found God's spokesmen, would have been like "death" to him.

  Although I don't think he's real, once you've scrutinized the bible accounts and found God wanting - he seems like one angel that started critical thinking! And then got a bad rewrite. Those apostates!

  God Cannot Lie, But God's Organization Can?

  in the recently leaked bethel training videos, both speakers state that inappropriate flirting really amounts to lying, as if a person is misrepresenting either his interest or availability to another person romantically.. we are reminded that the bible is very plain in its expressions on lying such as proverbs 12:22 which states it is detestable to god.

  so with the example given here, we must have a very high standard in separating what is truthful from what is not.. with that being the case, it shocks me that bethel would produce a video presented to all in attendance at the 2017 regional convention regarding the early 1970's, essentially rewriting history as to what actually happened.. is misrepresenting your past and misleading millions of followers not a much more extreme case of lying from those who claim to reject any form of lying no matter how small, such as flirting?

  would anyone like to add more examples to this thread?.

  There was a watchtower article I think in the last year or two, about lying. It showed the definition of what is a lie. (WT's version that is)
  

  Satan told Adam and Eve a lie - that is bad because it brought about their death.

  Rahab told an lie untruth - that is ok because it saved the Israelite spies from death.

  It's only a lie if it causes one of God's people harm. Telling a lie to someone that doesn't deserve the truth - isn't a lie and is commended.

  So much for loving "truth"

  These are my impressions of the three vids.

  • Dark and moody lighting.
  • The feeling that the events taking place, were from a movie about aliens, either living amongst humans or vice versa.
  • The ending phrases were direct messages of how the WT wants JW's to view events. Often, they are the opposite of what a normal human would think.

  The lightening gives the feeling of being in a secret place and time. How creepy was it, when the JW lady focused on the bracelets. Like seeing an identifying mark of an alien and trying to pretend you don't notice. And the one part where you saw the women standing in the gloom of this "store" all staring at her, was a classic horror/alien shot. Clearly, the JW lady didn't belong there. And isn't that what the WT wants each and every JW to feel like? The other people in this world, aren't like us. You belong with the other JW's. Then there is the obvious obnoxious stereotyping of a worldly person.

  The Phrase at the end of this part, was about the turning of the governments on false, then true religion. But I found myself expecting them to say "and wipe out all of those that support homosexuality" Certainly, it would have crossed my mind as a JW. And wouldn't a JW feel like they have been "persecuted" by all of those "judging" worldly people?

  The second one - The young lady that was upset over the how the congregation was divided - did any elder confer with people in the congregation on how they felt about being split up? No? You mean they just chose to stick people here and there without any consideration for their feelings? Is that the way empathetic shepherds are supposed to treat the flock? Tenderly caring for them? I see.

  She was the one with courage to stick up for herself. She wanted the other lady to take courage and stand up to a poor decision. Surely, this older sister that would be a help to her family and would enjoy having her family around her at the meeting, would be reasonable. Instead, she ran into others that were like the pod people. The elder behind them was just about to start shrieking and pointing his finger at the upstart sister, when the older sister tricked her into turning into a pod person herself.

  The young sister was wrong, it isn't courage to stand up for yourself, real courage is when you give up and blindly follow others.

  The young boy. When I saw the illustration, I saw Jesus coming to destroy people. And the people at the bottom, didn't have their fists clenched in defiance. Their hands were of desperation, reaching out, asking not to be killed. But the WT ignored that aspect. Instead it was about the child's personal safety. Fear of what would happen to him. That is natural. All humans faced with the idea of a supernatural force coming to wipe out people, would also be afraid of maybe making a mistake or sinning so that god might just smite them too. But wait, it was about fighting! Why would a child think he was supposed to fight the "bad" people? And the answer given to him about the "instructions" from the elders being unknown - yeah that is reassuring. I'm sure the green screen will be filled with dead bodies. Another WT tactic. How many kids will imagine relatives, the nice teacher at the school and non Jw friends lying there on the ground in the future? Even themselves. Hey if you show Noah and his family perishing in the flood because they didn't pay attention at the meetings, how much more so the kids today? But after all is said and done, the boy is smiling because he doesn't have to fight and god will take care of everything. (Er Jesus, he's supposed to be there fighting)

  sometimes, i don't know why, but i listen to a religious station on the way home from work.

  maybe because i just want to roll my eyes over their version of religious interpretation as well as see that they all do the same as the wt.. anyway, this particular preacher was at the end of his program.

  Anyway, this particular preacher was at the end of his program. In a loud and sincere voice he said "We provide this program with the sole support of God - Your earnest prayer on our behalf - And your financial contributions."

  After making it sound like they have God as their backer, the last thing they slip in, is the mention of financial contributions. LOL Really

  As a commercial, another religion plugged a "free" pamphlet on "God's Mighty Men" It was suggested that Men only ask for this pamphlet because it was "candid" and had "humor" on how a man could be one of God's Mighty Men and fulfill his position as head of his household. Of course, a wife could "gift" one to her man.

  After all this "pillow" talk stuff, I'm afraid that commercial took on a different meaning.

  her only comment was it was about time they made some modest clothing.

  Witness females are subjected to a strict dress code too, so why would she get upset over another female being forced to wear a tent?
